After leaving Alice Springs this morning at 8:30 we continued north up the Stuart Highway and we reached Tennant Creek some 500 km later and checked into a caravan park just for tonight. At this stage we are as far north as we intend to go and we will now turn east into northern Queensland and make our way to the coast at Rockhampton. Today was the first day we encountered truly warm weather and I think tonight will be our first night without the heater or the electric blanket. The highlight in the part tonight is a bush poet and widgedee grub tasting opportunity but we'll probably give that a miss.
