3 September - Bruges - Belgium

Woke up this morning to another beautiful day. No driving, and a whole day to explore this wonderful city. Went to the tourist info office and a helpful young man drew a suggested self-guided walking tour on a map, so, map in hand we set off with cameras clicking. Literally everywhere you look is a photo opportunity.
Over the next few hours we sauntered around, stopping only occasionally to try a snack here and there. The whole town is just wall to wall bars, cafes, patisseries and snack bars. As we walked down our suggested walking route we occasionally passed some of the older back alleys here - in some cases, nothing here has changed in these for a hundred years or so.
By mid afternoon it was time for beers and coffee at one of the hundreds of outdoor cafes to rest our weary feet. For dinner this evening we just bought fresh bread, cheese, ham and tomatoes which went well with a few beers and a bottle of Rose.
In the evening, John and I went out to get a few night shots.
Still lots of people around and the cafes were all full.
Managed to get a few shots as the sun went down and the street lights came on.
Time to head home to the Salvatores Hotel and settle in for the night. Tomorrow is another day here in beautiful old Bruges, before we continue our journey to Holland.
