11 August - Hervey Bay
A very relaxing day in Hervey Bay. The fantastic weather continues and we spent most of the day kicking back and reading. In the afternoon I remember thinking how well a good French patisserie would do here and the more I thought about it it seemed obvious that someone would have already thought of it. So I fired up Google and sure enough about 2 km up the road was The French Bakehouse. Twenty minutes later we were enjoying a coffee with cherry filled croissants - outstanding. Yesterday while driving around we spotted an Italian restaurant - Viva Italiano so this evening we decided to try that out too. It's located right on the beach and when we arrived there we were just in time to see the sun go down. Quickly grabbed the camera and took the shot. One more day in Hervey Bay and then on to Gympie.

ReplyDeleteLooks and reads like you are having a good time.
Pictures (good ones) do say a thousand words. My recent visit the centre helps me understand them.
I thought the scenery from Broken Hill through the centre and then back to Loxton wow.
I did Chambers Pillars, East then West McDonalds, Kings Canyon, Kata Tjuta then Uluru and I'm glad we did them in this order. I'll remember Kings Canyon and Kata Tjuta for their stunning beauty, but I will always remember them as significant walks or at tones crawls.
I loved Albert N watercolours but thought they were part caricature. No more, he was a great artist.
Your Kata Tjuta picture (24 July) would make Albert smile.
Loved the sunset from the platform near Elrdunda however I think the Harvey Bay beach sunset (12 August) is very special.
Do not rush to get home just yet. it is still cold.
Lee recovering well from his jaw surgery. swelling well down. He becoming very active and thus far responding well to puree.
All well with us despite the most significant bout of gastro/food poisoning I have ever had.
Say g'day to all at Gympie and give Tilly an ear rub for me.
Love Luke
