22 July - Day 8 - Uluru (Ayers Rock) NT

We left Erldunda this morning at 8:45. It has warmed up significantly and today it was time to don the shorts and not the winter gear. A relatively short run today, due East along the Lassiter highway to one of the most famous landmarks in Australia. The trip was uneventful and we arrived here just after noon. The campground here is terrific and for the first time in a while we were able to connect the caravan to a drinkable water supply. Next we visited the Uluru resort which features a supermarket, gift shops, fuel station and so we were able to get a decent coffee and some much needed fresh food supplies. We'll explore this region over the next three days but I could not wait to go for a short drive to get our first decent look and photo of 'the rock', so here it is.

Lots more photos in the next couple of days.
