12 October - Hahndorf, SA

Left Mildura at 9:15 this morning, and set the GPS for Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills. I’ve lost count of the number of visits we’ve had to this town, but it is always a pleasure to come back. We’ve watched with interest as the only caravan park in town has developed into a first class facility under new ownership. The Hahndorf Resort had gradually deteriorated into a run down dump to the point of becoming dangerous. The park was dotted with huge eucalypts which would shed branches without warning. We had stopped coming here for a while until we noticed the upgrade. On arrival our first two priorities were apple strudel from the German bakery, and fresh fruit and veggies at the fruit barn next to our park. We’re booked in for four nights and then we’ll probably move on to Adelaide.
